Prototype operations video - highly recommended - Bob Johnson - 06-27-2017 Here's a link to a prototype "operating session" explaining types of cars, commodities, and logic of car movements during interchange, blocking, and pick up and set out of freight cars. Very helpful in understanding what we're trying to accomplish during our operating sessions on our model railroad. RE: Prototype operations video - highly recommended - Mike Rehling - 07-09-2017 Thanks for posting Bob! Great primer for those not familiar with what it is that we are trying to achieve with the operating group. I love the failed coupling of the bulkhead flat to the covered hopper at 7:50, and how the conductor/brakeman have to align the couplers to ensure good joints. We often have these things happen during operations and it reinforces that even the prototype has to deal with these things from time to time. Is there a way to pin this post to the top as a "sticky"? Mike |
